Welcome to East Umatilla Fire and Rescue, your dedicated partners in emergency response and community safety. With a legacy of service spanning over 50+ years, we stand as a pillar of strength and support for the residents and visitors of our district.
On July 1, 2020 the three agencies (Athena Volunteer Fire Dept, Helix Fire Dept, EURFPD) providing Fire and EMS service to the eastern Oregon cities of Adams, Athena, Helix, and Weston, as well as the surrounding rural communities, joined into a single fire district and came to an agreement to form an IGA with East Umatilla County Ambulance Area Health District (EUCAAHD) to form East Umatilla Fire & Rescue.
East Umatilla Fire and Rescue is committed to preserving life, property, and the environment by providing and supporting the best possible emergency services to the communities in our district.
Our highly trained and dedicated personnel, including firefighters, paramedics, advanced emergency medical technicians (AEMTs), emergency medical technicians (EMTs), and administrative staff, work tirelessly around the clock to ensure swift and effective responses to all emergencies. From firefighting and medical aid to technical rescues and community outreach, we are committed to serving with integrity, empathy, and professionalism.
In addition to emergency response, we place a strong emphasis on community engagement and education. Through public safety initiatives, fire prevention programs, and CPR training, we empower individuals and families with the knowledge and skills needed to stay safe and resilient.
